Jonathan Hearn Hesperia Fire Explorer Chosen as Fire Chief of Explorer Academy
On Hesperia Fire Explorer Jonathan Hearn has been honored with the prestigious position of Fire Chief of the 17th Annual Inland Empire Fire Explorer Association (IEFEA) Fire Academy being held at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, and at the Marine Corp Logistic Base Annex in Yermo, November 12th through the 16th. On October 25th, at 10:15 a.m., San Bernardino County Firefighters responded to a 2nd alarm structure fire at an abandoned military housing complex located at George Blvd. and Nevada St. at the Southern California Logistics Airport in Victorville. Upon their arrival, the single story 8-plex had fire coming through the roof. The fire quickly spread through the common attic to the adjacent apartments. To read the story, click here.

San Bernardino County Firefighters responded to a 2nd alarm structure fire on October 9th at 11:39 a.m at 1098 Hwy. 2 in Wrightwood. Upon their arrival, the 2500 square foot, two-story, single-family dwelling was fully involved, along with two boats and a small shed. To read the story, click here.


Firefighters at fire siteFire Destroys Strip Mall At 2:58 a.m. on September 17th, EZ Mart liquor store located on the corner of a strip mall, caught fire. Upon arrival of firefighters, the business was fully involved. Flames quickly spread through the common attic to three other adjacent businesses. Shortly after, the roof of the facility collapsed. Firefighter rescues dogFirefighters Rescue Dog from Aqueduct At 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16th, firefighters from the Hesperia and Phelan Stations utilized technical rescue skills to rescue a dog from the California Aqueduct near the Baldy Mesa road overpass in Baldy Mesa. Particpants of Mud RunCounty Fire Represented at Mud Run What better to do on Saturday but get dirty and run in the mud and all for a good cause. Two teams represented County Fire on September 6th at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Mud Run to raise money for C.O.P.S., Concerns of Police Survivors. Fireman saving family dogFirefighters Rescue Family Dog from Burning Home On August 9th, at about 10:25 a.m., firefighters from the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to a house burning in the 14900 block of Manhattan Lane in Fontana. With heavy black smoke pouring from the house, firefighters quickly went into action and discovered that all family members had escaped without injury.
