Hotel/Motel Escape
  • Like all buildings, hotels and motels can have fires. You can increase your chance of survival by being prepared and by doing the right thing in an emergency.
R.V., Camping and Boating Safety
  • Know how and where to build your camporee.
  • Never use lighters, matches, or camp stoves inside your tent.
  • Set up barbecue grills away from houses and trees.
  • During electrical storms, stay away from water and trees.
  • Boaters, shut off your engines before you add fuel.
  • Every year there are over 4,000 deaths from accidental boating.
  • The amount of injuries resulting from recreational boating in 1987 was
    3,501. This represented an increase from the 1986 total of 2,847.
Vacation Safety
  • 39.5 deaths per 100,000 are due to accidents each summer.
  • Barbecues can be dangerous as you deal with high temperatures, flammable liquids, and tender skin.
