Summer’s here, which means lots of fun. But did you know that summertime can be a very dangerous time for kids? Follow these tips to protect yourself and promise to make this a SAFE KIDS Summer!

1. RIDE SAFE: buckle up on every ride, make sure infants 60 lbs or 6 years are in a car seat restraint and installed correctly

2. SWIM SAFE: never swim without an adult present or swim buddy. Wear a personal floatation device (PFD) when on a boat or at the beach/lake.

3. WHEEL SAFE: wear a helmet every time you use a bike, scooter, skates, etc. Know the rules of the road and obey all traffic laws

4. WALK SAFE: look left, right and left again before crossing the street and watch for traffic. Wear reflective materials and carry a flashlight when it’s dark.

5. PLAY SAFE: Make sure an adult is watching when using playground equipment. Wear properly fitted protective gear when practicing or playing team sports.
