Fire
Season 2007
An
unusually dry winter has left forest and desert
areas much more vulnerable to fire than usual
this year, so the wildland fire season that
began in May 2007 calls for a little more care
and caution than usual to prevent wildfires that
destroy homes and resources.
The situation is
especially critical for residents living near
open forest and desert, where creating a
"defensible space" of 100 feet around your home
is especially important this year. It is also required by
California law, in Public Resources Code (PRC)
4291(a).
