It is located off of Highway 38 in the eastern area of the San Bernardino Mountains. Equipment includes: two four-wheel drive fire engines (one of which is specially equipped for brush fire responses), one squad with medical and rescue equipment such as the "Jaws of Life", and a Snow Cat for heavy snow conditions. This station is staffed by Paid Call Firefighters who live locally. During fire season, this station is often "hard covered" with personnel staying at the station.
Station 15 also protects the
communities of Seven Oaks and Barton Flats. They provide
immediate assistance to the U.S. Forest Service for forest
fires in the area and also protect a large portion of Highway
38 on it's way through the area and up to Big Bear.
