SBC Fire Station 4 > North Desert Division

This station is located in the Silver Lakes area in the community of Helendale. Located off of historic route 66 between Barstow and Victorville, Station 4 protects a residential lake side community along with rural ranch and dairy sites. Station 4 also protects the small community of Oro Grande which is home to the Riverside Cement Plant, one of the largest cement plants in the nation. The station is home to an ICS Type 1 Structure Engine "Medic Engine 4" (ME4), an ICS Type 3 Brush Engine (BE4), and a squad (S4) carrying specialized equipment such as the "Jaws of Life". In addition to Helendale and Silver Lakes, this station also assists the communities of Hinkley and Adelanto. They also respond to protect a large portion of U.S. Highway 395, Highway 58, and Interstate 15.

24 hour full-time staffing consists of one Captain, an Engineer, and two Firefighter Paramedics. There is also a paid-call (PCF) company based here which provides additional staffing or can respond a second unit when needed. These PCFs live in the local area.
