This station is staffed on an on-call basis by paid-call firefighters living in the local community. Apparatus consists of one Type 3 brush engine with 4 wheel drive, and one water tender. Station 48 protects the community of Summit Valley as well as Hwy. 138 between I-15 and Lake Silverwood. They also provide assistance to the City of Hesperia and the U.S. Forest Service.
