At 10:19 a.m. on October 24th, San Bernardino County Firefighters responded to a 2nd alarm commercial structure fire at the 13500 block of Readiness Street at Southern California Logistics Airport in Victorville.
Leisure World, a pool table manufacturing business, formally leased the 6,000-foot warehouse. The company was in the process of vacating the premises when the fire broke out. While employees were in the process of dismantling an old paint spray booth, a flash fire occurred causing 2nd degree burns to the employee’s forearms. The employee was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Due to aggressive firefighting techniques, firefighters were able to bring the fire under control within 30 minutes and save several large stockpiles of boxed pool tables and business records.
The metal building suffered heat and smoke damage, however is salvageable. The loss from the fire is estimated at $80,000.
