School Fire Ruled Arson
May 21 - San Bernardino County firefighters responded to an early morning commercial
structure fire inside the administrative building at Bloomington High School, 10750
Laurel Ave, Bloomington. With a quick interior attack, firefighters were able to
bring the 2nd alarm blaze under control in about 40 minutes. Approximately 45 firefighters
from San Bernardino County Fire, with assistance from Rialto and Colton Fire, kept
the fire contained to the administration offices.
The interior and content of the building is a complete loss, with early damages
estimated at over $250,000. There were no injuries. School officials are working
to secure and clean up the area before students return to school on Monday. Bloomington
High School is part of the Colton Joint Unified School District.
San Bernardino County Fire Investigators determined the fire was intentionally set.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by San Bernardino County Fire
with the assistance of San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Arson/Bomb unit.
