Fire Destroys Mobile Home, Cat Saved
Mobile Home Fire

June 17 - Firefighters responded to a structure fire in the 10400 block of Eaby Rd. in Phelan a little before 4 p.m. Upon arrival, the double-wide mobile home was completely engulfed by the blaze and fire was spreading into nearby vegetation and towards two adjacent structures.

Downed live electrical lines hindered firefighting efforts; however firefighters contained the mobile home fire in about 45 minutes and quickly extinguished the brush fire.

A female resident was located outside of the home upon firefighter arrival. She was treated and released to Sheriff Deputies. Firefighters saved a singed cat from the structure and provided it with oxygen. The cat was then released into the care of County Animal Control.

The mobile home and adjacent shed are a complete loss. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by San Bernardino County Fire investigators.
