San Bernardino County Fire mourns the loss of Engineer Eddie Keen. Engineer Keen, 59 years of age, passed away at his home on July 14th.

Engineer Eddie Keen started with the Central Valley Fire Protection District as a Firefighter Trainee in 1975. He promoted to Firefighter on May 8, 1976. On October 2, 1982 he was promoted to Engineer and remained at that rank for the rest of his career. He was currently assigned to Station 75 in Muscoy. Even prior to his fire service career he was involved in the Fontana Fire District as his father was the Fire Chief, Chief R.J. Keen.

Eddie held a special position in many hearts of this department as he was known as a prankster, but always had the spirit and dedication of a firefighter. Engineer Keen was married with two boys, one 13 years old - who plans on becoming a fire explorer next year and one who is 11 years of age. Because of his commitment and tenure, Eddie was a mainstay for the Valley Division of the County Fire Department. Engineer Eddie Keen will be truly missed, but never forgotten.

A memorial service is being planned in Eddie’s honor. Details will be announced in the new future.
