On
May 5, 2009, the Board of Supervisor’s honored
Management Analyst Larita Manalili with the
Award of Excellence for her hard work,
dedication and Service F.I.R.S.T. (Friendly,
Interested, Responsive, Service-Oriented &
Trustworthy) efforts.
Public Service Recognition Week is a nationwide
celebration honoring the men and women serving
America as federal, state and local government
employees. Each year the San Bernardino County
Board of Supervisors presents Awards for
Excellence to County employees who exemplify
quality public service.
The selection guidelines for the awards are
based on the principles articulated in San
Bernardino County’s Mission, Vision and Values
statements, as well as Service F.I.R.S.T.
Larita approaches each day with a can do
positive attitude toward all staff and anyone
she comes into contact with during the course of
her job. She contributes immensely to the San
Bernardino County Fire Department’s commitment
of Duty, Honor, Community.
Larita’s position involves a lot of contact with
other County personnel and outside agencies. She
is often complemented by managers, staff, and
department heads from inside and outside County
Fire on her excellent service, professionalism
and her cheerful attitude.
Larita handles the majority of the Grants for
County Fire and continually looks for grants
that could benefit County Fire and some of our
affiliated outside agencies. She goes the extra
mile on all grants to make sure the funding is
accounted for, spent properly and all required
reports are thoroughly completed on time. She
takes the responsibility of accounting for
another agency’s money very seriously and
ensures everyone involved in the grant is doing
the same.
She also processes incident response billings
which requires a lot of patience and tenacity
when attempting to collect a past due invoice.
As frustrating as it can be, she has never let
any of the agencies see her frustration. Her
professionalism assists with maintaining the
strong relationships we have built with outside
agencies and yet still able to resolve
roadblocks to incident responsibility and
reimbursement.
Larita possess excellent people skills and never
forgets the human side of interacting with
others both inside and outside of county fire.
She is always putting others ahead of herself
and is willing to take the time to listen but
never lets it effect her job duties. She is a
great example of a team player in our
organization.
Many times Larita and her children have served
Thanksgiving Dinner to the homeless at a local
church in her area. Helping those less fortunate
than her is a priority and passing this desire
onto her children is very important to her.
Larita comes to work energetic and ready to get
the job done, not letting anything change her
positive attitude.
