What
better to do on Saturday but get dirty and run
in the mud and all for a good cause. Two teams
represented County Fire on September 6th at the
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Mud
Run to raise money for C.O.P.S., Concerns of
Police Survivors. This foundation assists
families of law enforcement officers killed in
the line of duty.
Carol Montag, Amy Sheldon, Christine Tenorio,
Jevita Webster, Joan Bacon, Jose May, Charles
Bantum, Dwane Pianalto, Leslie Heaviside and
Greg Beach all braved the 5K (3.2 mile) run. The
obstacle course created at the Sheriff’s
Training facility in Devore, consisted of
twisted obstacles, 6’ walls, pipe hurdles, mud
pits, low crawls, sand, dirt, water and of
course lots of mud. Jevita Webster stated, “We
were all sore and tired after the race, but it
was worth it! We laughed, we fell, we laughed
some more, and then we got up and kept going.”
What a blast! The mud run teams are looking
forward to next year’s run and already
recruiting to build more teams.
