On Saturday, September 12, 2009 more then 2,000 people participated the 2009 Annual Sheriff’s Mud Run. County Fire had a great showing, with teams and individual runners participating in the 5K and 10K. The course consisted of mud pits, hill climbs, low crawls and other grueling obstacles. Runners ran through the sounds of machinegun fire, explosions and low flying helicopters. Every year this event grows bigger and bigger, and all for a great cause!
Profits gained by the run went to the Concerns of Police Survivors Foundation (C.O.P.S), as well as Loma Linda Children Hospital and Community Action Partnership. A donation was also made to the two families of the fallen firefighters who recently lost their lives fighting the Station Fire in Los Angeles County. A can food drive was also held and County Animal Control were on site with the Pet Adoption Program.
