This year on October 15 at 10:15 a.m., millions of people worldwide will practice How to Drop, Cover, and Hold On during Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills which began in California in 2008. Participating is a great way for your family or organization to be prepared to survive and recover quickly from big earthquakes– wherever you live, work, or travel.
While some areas of California are more likely to have earthquakes than others, all of California is at higher risk compared to the rest of the country. In fact, the beautiful San Bernardino Mountains are the result of seismic activity along the San Andreas Fault running right through the County.
You could be anywhere when an earthquake strikes: at home, at work, at school, or even on vacation.
What you do now will determine your quality of life after our next damaging earthquake. Are you prepared to survive and recover quickly?
The San Bernardino County Fire, Office of Emergency Services is proud to be a part of the Great California ShakeOut.
